CEd conducts EDTalk

“The purpose of this event is to gather all the complaints of our co-students and find possible solutions to these problems and to hear their sides kung ano na ba ang nangyayari sa ating kolehiyo”, said Mr. Junior M. Pacol, College of Education Student Council President in the last ‘EDTALK: Let your voice be heard’, CED Tan Hall, October 14.

The said event was participated by the classroom officers in both Secondary and Elementary Education Department, CED-SC Officers, and Secondary and Elementary Education Department (SED and EED)-SC Officers.

Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, College Dean, served as the resource speaker of the panel.  The members of the panel include: Associate Professor Vilma M. Salas, Elementary Education Department (EED) Chairperson; Mr. Marco Paulo F. Bernabe, University Supreme Students Council (USSC) President; Mr. Jefferson F. Fang, Administrative Aide; Ms. Krizza Andrea M. Garcia, Kabataan Partylist; Mr. Junior M. Pacol, CED-SC President; Mr. Jervee S. Francisco, SED-SC President and; Ms. Darlene S. Digma, EED-SC President.

The students raised questions and complaints through writing it on a small sheet of paper and let any member of the panel to answer it.

Some of the raised problems and complaints were poor functioning air conditioners and electric fans in some classrooms; cleanliness of the comfort room (CR); proper wearing of ID and uniform; introduction of the grading system for each subjects as the regular class starts; academic freedom; hiring of Part-time Instructors and; the renewing of the college shirt.

“We are giving serious look on these concerns because it is for the welfare of the students.  Let’s cooperate,” said Dr. Gaboy during the forum. He asks for the students help by letting the administration know their concerns.

 “It was successful for us kasi narinig namin ang mga hinaing ng mga kapwa nating.  Sa ganitong paraan, mas higit nating malalaman ang mga dapat gawin upang matugunan ang mga ito”, said Ms. Elmarie Baltazar, CEd-SC Public Information Officer (PIO) and organizer of the event.

Ms. Viola A. Barnachea, Instructor I from the EED Department served as the moderator.
