College of Education of Central Luzon State University is now an Outcome-Based Pre-Service Teacher Education Program; Curriculum Quality Audit (OBE-CQA) compliant as the Philippine National Research Center for Teacher Quality (PNRCTQ) reviewed its teacher education curriculum.
The Certificate of Recognition was awarded to CEd last August 3 at Hotel H2O, Manila and was received by Dr. Melissa E. Agulto, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, dean of the college.
Mr. Vincent R. Feliciano and Ms. Marites D. Antonio, both faculty members of CLSU-CEd, were also recognized by PNRCTQ as Curriculum Quality Audit specialists, trainers and researchers.
According to Feliciano, the campaign for the university to be a part of the OBE:CQA started way back in February last year.
“We started last year, and fortunately, we were recognized by the RCTQ last August.” Feliciano added. He also said that being a qualified institution for the said program will allow the university to introduce and invite nearby TEI’s to also participate.
The OBE:CQA aims to help and support selected Teacher Education Institutions (TEI’s) including the university to perform quality auditing of their pre-service teacher education curriculum with hopes to ensure that their respective curricula are outcome-based and K to 12 aligned.
