“IT is indeed a groundbreaking moment for CLSU” says Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) of CLSU, as he witnessed and spoke at the “MOA Signing and Groundbreaking for Solar Rooftop Installation” held this August 08, 2019 at CLIRDEC building – making CLSU the first State University to get solar and microgrid facilities. The event, which involved First Gen Corp and Pi Energy, was accompanied by other CLSU officials and Dr. Julius Caesar Sicat, the regional director of DOST of region III. The event focused on the forging the partnership of CLSU and the said companies above by the reading and affixing their signatures on the said Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) which cites the details of the agreement. The event is then shortly followed by the installation of the solar panels along the rooftop of the CLIRDEC building.

“This is just the beginning” Dr. Reyes, added, reminding that the idea of this project goes way back from 2016 but also indicating the possibilities are endless and there are more projects to be expected within this partnership.
