To formally welcome future educators in the field of teaching profession, College of Education (CEd) held a symbolic 'Pinning and Send-Off Ceremony of Student-Teachers' at CEd DG Tan Hall, January 22.
CEd will deploy 42 Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) students and 63 Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) students to various partner schools.
BEED students will be assigned among the following schools: DEPED-CLSU Elementary (Laboratory) School, Muñoz Central School, Muñoz North Central School, and Zinnia Child Development Center. Meanwhile, BSED students will be deployed in Agricultural Science and Technology School, Bartolome Sangalang National High School, Muñoz National High School (Main and Annex), Porais High School, San Jose City National High School, and Sto. Domingo Trade School.
The student-teachers were called up to the stage while their parent/guardian fastened their nameplate--a token that is given to CED students after they qualify for practice teaching.
The principals and representatives of the partner schools also graced the event to officially welcome the student teachers. They said a few words of welcome and assured the parents that their children will be well taken care of.
This semester, six students will get the chance to participate in the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia for the first time. For 30 days, two BEED students will train under Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, two BEED students in Khon Kaen University (Thailand), and two BSED students will be deployed in Tsukuba University (Japan). They are set to leave the country this coming February 06.
