Kapihan sa Bukid with CHED Chairman De Vera and CLSU Officials

As part of the launching of the eFARM Academy Program, an event dubbed as Kapihan sa Bukid is conducted today, February 11 at the Cabisuculan Mushroom Center, Brgy. Cabisuculan, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija graced by CHED Chairperson J. Prospero E. de Vera III, Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, and CLSU officials led by President Edgar A. Orden.
This event seeks to intensify the partnership between CLSU, SCM LGU, and the Cabisuculan Mushroom Growers Association as one of the beneficiaries of the eFARM GROW.
“Kami po sa CLSU ay patuloy na magbabahagi ng mga teknolohiyang aming nadedebelop. Isa na nga dito ay sa pamamagitan ng Technology Village Program, at ngayon naman ay itong eFARM GROW sa ilalim ng eFARM Academy,” said President Orden in his opening remarks.
Dr. Jerry A. Rigos, City Agriculturist and representative of SCM Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez, reinforced their support to any endeavours of CLSU that will strengthen and empower the farmers.
CHED Chairperson De Vera, in his message, emphasized the role of the University in its neighbouring communities.
“Mahalaga ang ginagampanan ng mga pamantasan tulad ng CLSU upang mabago at mapabuti ang buhay ng mga tao at komunidad na nasasakupan nito,” he said.
In addition, he stressed that universities should prioritize on doing extension and not just research because after all, universities were established to help the nearby communities grow.
During the event, mushroom growers and association members get to ask queries with regards to their involvement in the project.
Others who joined the event were Cabisuculan Barangay Captain Benjamin Kara, Councilor Jerry Fulgencio, Association President Alexander Antonio Mapalo and their officers, and the eFARM Academy Program Team.
