Thirty-five (35) participants from the five barangays of Science City of Muñoz attended the training on fresh mushroom processing held last February 17, 2021, at the Mushroom Center in Brgy. Cabisuculan.
The University Extension Center (UEC), together with the College of Home Science and Industry and the Cabisuculan Mushroom Growers Association organized the said activity to accomplish one of the Technology Village Development Program’s (TVDP) objectives which are to lead the beneficiaries/ farmer-partners towards entrepreneurial skills through the establishment of small business using their local resources thus capacitating them on product development through processing.
Venus Lagmay of the College of Home Science and Industry served as the resource person and discussed the Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety. She also demonstrated the processing of noodles and chips out of fresh mushrooms.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa pa-training na ito ng CLSU dahil magagamit namin ito sa kabuhayan namin ng pagkakabute lalo na at mayroong mushroom center dito sa Muñoz. Nakakatuwa po dahil tinuruan kami sa mga recipe ng mushroom,” shared by a participant after the training.
The said training is just one of the many activities that the UEC has prepared for the realization of TVDPs purpose.
