CLSU debuts in THE Global Impact Rankings, tops 2 SDGs among PH Universities

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) debuted in the 601-800 bracket of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022 which measured the performance of 1,406 world universities on the attainment of United Nations’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The University submitted its initiatives and contributions to the 10 SDGs which reflect its mission to the peoples and communities it serves such as (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero Hunger, (4) Quality Education, (5) Gender Equality, (7) Affordable and Clean Energy, (11) Sustainable Cities and Communities, (13) Climate Action, (14) Life Below Water, (15) Life on Land, and (17) Partnerships for the Goals.
Among the Philippine universities included in this year’s global impact ranking, CLSU performed best in the goal of conserving the aquatic ecosystem and using global water resources sustainably through the initiatives primarily led by the College of Fisheries and Freshwater Aquaculture Center as well as in the goal of combating climate change and its impacts through the stewardship of the University’s Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM).
CLSU also demonstrated its strong achievement in the goal of combating national hunger through the development of professionals and experts in the field of agriculture, the goal of supporting the land and ecosystem through its policies and actions in sustainable management of its terrestrial resources for educational and tourism purposes, and goal of affordable and clean energy through its programs in reducing carbon emissions, efficient use of energy on campus, and research on renewable energy.
