The JICA experts were welcomed and toured around by Dr. Renato G. Reyes, VP for Academic Affairs and concurrent Director of International Affairs Office (IAO), and Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Unit Head for International Linkages and Intercultural Exchange of IAO.
Mr. Daisuke and his team, composed of Ms. Shimizu Mikako, the Senior Representative of JICA, Ms. Tanaka Keiko, nurse of JICA, and Mr. Sakurai Makoto and Mr. Rafael Cervales, part of the security team of JICA, did a quick tour to the International Affairs Office, Alumni Hostel, CLSU-Infirmary, and the Flora and Fauna Analytical and Diagnostic Laboratory, the area where they will conduct the project for two years.
The BaCaDM is a five-year collaborative research project funded by JICA which aims to develop and promote a technology system that will help farmers address major diseases in bananas and cacao.
