The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) - Bureau of Patents accorded Central Luzon State University (CLSU) four Utility Model (UM) certificates for generated technologies on May 19, 2022.
The UM certificates with a validity of seven years were given to the following technologies: “Preparation of a Pelletized Goat Feed” and “Chocolate-Flavored Goats Milk Drink” developed by the Small Ruminant Center (SRC), “An Improve testing Process for the Efficacy of the Phytoandrogen feed in Tilapia Sex Reversal” by the College of Fisheries (CF), and the “Plastic Biogas Digester” developed by the Philippine-Sino Center for Agricultural Technology (PhilSCAT).
The certification for the pelletized goat feed discloses the economical process of preparing and packaging a pelletized forage-based feed for lactating dairy goats with Indigofera zollingeriana leaves as one of the ingredients in the feed. This project was initiated by then SRC director and now University President Edgar A. Orden, while the UM for chocolate-flavored goat’s milk drink was developed by Ms. Leny Lyn Del Rosario as part of the SRC’s product development project.
Meanwhile, the certification on the assay of testing the efficacy of a tilapia feed that contains pollen powder from the Benguet pine, Pinus kesiya as the main component for tilapia sex reversal treatment was a project led by Dr. Ravelina Velasco, dean of the CF.
Moreover, the certification for plastic biogas digester which produces biogas from animal manure as a source of renewable energy was awarded to the team headed by Dr. Emmanuel Sicat, former PhilSCAT Director.
These technologies were applied for registration in 2019.
