AACCUP Caps 5-day Evaluation for the 6 Curricular Programs, Accreditors Express Notable Impressions

Esteemed accreditors from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) provided their notable impressions on the six curricular programs of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) during the closing program of the 5-day online preliminary survey visit last May 27, 2022.

Dr. Marcela T. Caluscosin of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University was the overall AACCUP coordinator and led the said accreditation. For her overall impression, she acknowledged the effort and initiatives of the university officials and the local accreditation task force for their continuous pursuit of excellence in education.

“CLSU has gone far in its continuous pursuit for improvement by submitting more programs for accreditation that would improve the institution's performance,” said Dr. Caluscosin.

Meanwhile, Dr. Leilidyn Y. Zurbano of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines was the evaluator of the Ph.D. in Plant Breeding program. She commended the noteworthy and relevant researches of the program. While Dr. Yancy Waminal of Tarlac Agricultural University, accreditor for Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology praised the highly qualified and passionate faculty of the department.

Dr. Artemio A. Martin of Isabela State University, on the other hand, reviewed the documents of the Ph.D. in Soil Science wherein he appreciated the readiness of the team with its well-arranged documents. While the accreditor for the Master of Business Administration Prof. Adrian Galapon of Mariano Marcos State University commended the readiness of the program for level 1 Accreditation.

Prof. Gehana D. Lamug of Camarines Norte State College handled the BS in Entrepreneurship wherein she appreciated the accessibility and well-packaged documents. Lastly, Prof. Josephine Arellano of the University of Eastern Philippines evaluated the BS in Fashion and Textile Technology wherein she commended the exemplary performance of the program as seen in their recent accomplishments which proved the quality of education they are providing to their students.

As a response, University President Edgar A. Orden delivered the pledge of commitment and expressed his gratitude to the accreditors for their positive feedback and suggestions for the improvement of the programs. Also, President Orden conveyed his appreciation to the CLSU task force for their unwavering dedication and commitment to keeping up with the challenges of providing excellent service and quality education.

 “Through accreditation activities like this, the programs will have the opportunity to check and re-check their objectives and receive a fresh perspective from the experts. Rest assured that we are united in our commitment to keeping up with the challenges of internationalization, to strive and uphold excellence, especially in providing quality education,” said President Orden for the pledge of commitment.
