Four students from the College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI) represented Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and showcased their skills during the 16th Annual Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism (HRT) Week and 14th National Food Showdown last September 21-23, 2023 held in Baguio City.

The competition for Hotels, Restaurants, and University Students all over the Philippines  was organized by the reputable Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) where Mr. Christian Andrei DL. Palomo and Mr. Joshua B. Lazaro bagged the bronze medal for their outstanding performance under the Traditional/Modern Regional Cuisine category featuring their version of Pinakbet.

On the other hand, Ms. Daryl Joy F. Abaco and Ms. Chatelyn G. Placido secured the silver medal for the Pasta Sauce Showdown category besting other participants from different schools and food-related businesses.

The students enrolled under the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management were guided and accompanied by Chef Michelle A. Domingo and Assistant Professor Celeste D. Dela Cruz as trainers, and Ms. Jennylynne L. Lubrin, Mr. Jomerick F. Domingo, and Chef Robert Cauilan as team coach.
