To increase the fish productivity of the Paitan Lake and Vaca Dam Reservoir in Cuyapo and Llanera, Nueva Ecija, respectively, a stock enhancement activity was done last August 12, 2021. The Central Luzon State University - College of Fisheries (CF-CLSU), headed by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, together with representatives from the Balik Sigla sa Ilog at Lawa (BASIL) program of the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Region III and the Local Government Unit (LGU) led this initiative

This joint activity has facilitated the stocking of multi-species of fish such as 40,000 pieces of Nile tilapia, 12,000 pieces of mudfish, and 42,000 pieces of carp.

The fisherfolks and local communities who are relying on these bodies of water as a source of food fish directly benefit from stock enhancement activities. Moreover, the team demonstrated the use of various water quality equipment such as thermometer, DO meter, pH meter, Secchi disc and plankton net. Also, an on-site water analysis was done to ensure good quality of water.
