CLSU Faculty Researchers Reap SINAG Awards as Technology Innovator and Adopter

wo spin-off companies of CLSU-generated technologies gained distinct recognition from the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (DOST-PCAARRD) as they reaped S&T Innovations in Agri-Aqua (SINAG) Awards during the 51st founding anniversary of DOST-PCAARRD held in Los Baños, Laguna on November 10, 2023.
The BLITZKRIEG Animal Diagnostic Center for the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFv) Nanogold Biosensor Test Kit founded by Dr. Clarissa Yvonne J. Domingo and the Vera Bella Enterprises Limited Company for its Tilapia Ice Cream and Cookies of Dr. Dana G. Vera Cruz and former CLSU President Dr. Tereso A. Abella, both won the SINAG Award under the Best Adopter Category.
In addition, Dr. Domingo also bagged the Best Innovator Award for her significant accomplishment in inventing the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFv) Nanogold Biosensor Test Kit which helped the farmers and the country’s livestock industry during the ASF outbreak.
The SINAG award aims to recognize the effort of an individual, group of individuals, or organization instrumental in the successful adoption and commercialization of a component technology or package of technologies. The award comes with a trophy, cash award and a research grant of 2 million and 3 million pesos technology commercialization grant for innovator and adopter category, respectively.
