The University Gender and Development Office through its Child Development Center (GAD-CDC) conducted its Adopt-A-School program at Villa Cuizon Elementary School and Daycare Center last September 28, and October 24, 2023.

The Adopt-A-School program is an initiative to extend its assistance and services to schools which includes several programs such as provision of teaching support to share some school paraphernalia so that all pupils will have equal access to these necessary tools of learning, and a feeding program which is undertaken once a month to improve the nutritional status of children enrolled in the daycare center. Other activities include reading programs to improve pupils' comprehension abilities, among others.

A total of 21 kindergarten pupils (10 male and 11 female), and 22 daycare pupils (13 male and 9 female) benefitted from the program of UGADO which provides services in mainstreaming gender through different activities that enable both men and women to participate and benefit equally from developmental efforts.
