October 11, 2023 - 09:45 am

Two groups of student-inventors from the College of Science presented their innovative food products during the Inventors’ Day as part of the Research Innovation and Development (RIDe) Festival 2023 which aims to provide an enabling environment for students to demonstrate their creativity and critical thinking skills.
The event held at the R&E Amphitheater was followed by the Seminar for Young Researchers where faculty-researchers and the research staff of CLSU listened to the lectures of Research for Development (R4D) experts and practitioners.
Dr. Danilo C. Cardenas, former Deputy Executive of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) delivered the first lecture on "Establishing Good Rapport and Relationships with Funding Agencies." His talk focused on the key principles and considerations for young researchers when seeking external funding and engaging with different funding agencies.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marita V.T. Reyes, former Chairperson of the National Ethics Committee and Philippine Health Research Ethics Board discussed enthusiastically her talk on "The Importance of Ethics in Conducting Research" which provided guidelines for the responsible conduct of researchers regardless of discipline.
The lectures left a very valuable lesson to all the attendees who are and will be the future researchers and innovators of the university.
