The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) in collaboration with Central Luzon State University – Precision and Digital Agriculture Center (PreDiCt) conducted a two-day training workshop on VEX Robotics from October 23-24, 2023.

Trainers from Hytec Power Inc. showcased their latest innovation of Vex Robotics bundles and provided guidance to the participants during the hands-on training where they experienced building robots which tested their IT and engineering skills.

The workshop featured topics on mastering VEX motors, the artful use of the bump sensor for precision, use of wireless controller, inventive robot modifications, and the creation of programs for the VEX Robot.

Along with the experts from the University of the Philippines - Los Baños, the workshop was attended by #CLSU faculty members from the IT Department, Engineering Sciences Department, and the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE).

As a culminating activity, the participants explored the full spectrum of sensors and engaged in a thrilling robot competition which showcased their newfound knowledge and skills in robotics. This initiative of SEARCA aims to play a pivotal role in advancing agricultural engineering towards smart farming.
