The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) faculty members attended the three batches of orientation on CHED Memorandum Order No. 3, series of 2022, also known as Gender-Based Sexual Harassment Cases in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Other Related Sexual Offenses on May 2, 2023, at the College of Education Teachers Hall.

This initiative intends to safeguard the rights of all stakeholders against sexual harassment in all forms especially those that may be committed within the university premises.

Prof. Janet O. Saturno, University Gender and Development Office (UGADO) director provided a brief background and explained the rationale of the orientation. She mentioned the urgency and importance of disseminating the aforesaid CMO since it is just recently released.

“Dahil kayo ang madalas na nakaharap sa mga students, mas lalo pang dapat tayong maging aware sa guidelines para maiwasan nating ma-involve sa sexual harassment case,” she said.

To maximize the time and resources of the university, a recorded video-lecture discussion by Atty. Eric Paul D. Peralta during the saGAD Kaalaman Webinar Series with the same topic was utilized during the orientation.

After the video presentation, Dr. Irene G. Bustos, head of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit, and Prof. Saturno, accommodated all the clarifications of the participants during the open forum.

CLSU non-academic employees and students will have a separate schedule of orientation.
