UGADO Kicks-off Virtually the Celebration of National Women’s Month
The CLSU Gender and Development Office (UGADO) conducted a virtual kick-off ceremony for the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme, “We Make Change, Work for Women - Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran,’’ on March 8, 2022, through Zoom conference and live-streamed via the UGADO Facebook page.
During the event, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, University President, mentioned that the celebration gave an opportunity to the CLSU community to reflect and assess how far their collective efforts have gone. He highlighted three C’s - Compassion, Collaboration, and Consistency: compassion not only for women but for all mankind regardless of skin color, age, race, gender identity, among others that make one different from the other; collaboration, as true change, can be truly achieved if unity and diversity are welcome and valued; and consistency in all that we do to accomplish our desired results.
“We are all connected to each other. Your story is part of mine, and my story is a part of yours”, Dr. Orden stressed during his remarks.
Teaser of lined-up activities was presented through an audio-visual presentation which include Orientation on GAD for Newly-Hired Employees, Sayaw-Sigla Para sa Kababaihan, Webinar on CHED Memorandum Order No. 1, series of 2015 - Establishing Policies and Guidelines on Gender and Development in Commission on Higher Education and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), JuanaSing: Song Making Contest, #SDGSABI: Small Action will Big Impact, Bida ka Juana: Women in Medical Frontline during the Pandemic, Cinemasabeeeh?
