Bantug is a Model Barangay for the Implementation of the CLSU BIDANI BMIS Project

The City Interior and Local Government Office of the Science City of Munoz, a collaborating agency of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in the implementation of the Barangay Integrated Development Approach for Nutrition Improvement of the Rural Poor (BIDANI) Program, chose Barangay Bantug as a model in the implementation of the Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) Project. An on-site visit and actual demonstration of the BMIS database were held last June 29, 2022, at the Bantug Barangay Hall. It was graced by Dir. Karl Caesar R. Rimando, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director, Atty. Ofelio A. Tatac, Jr. DILG Provincial Director, and CESO V, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President, Mr. Crismelito R. Catacutan, City Local Government Operations Officer, and Dr. Eugenia G. Baltazar, CLSU Extension Center Director.  “Maganda ang BMIS and we are looking forward na ma-implement ito hindi lang sa buong probinsya, kundi sa buong region sa tulong ng CLSU,” Dir. Rimando said. Ms. Fermina M. Macanas, BMIS project leader, demonstrated how the BMIS database works. According to her, the database provides the LGU with minimum data needs on socio-economic, health, nutrition, environment, and agriculture. It also facilitates the identification of household and barangay needs for nutrition and development planning and project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The BMIS project is one of the components of the BIDANI Program which was initiated by UPLB BIDANI and implemented by different SUCs nationwide. The Barangay Chair of Bantug, Mr. Eric P. Santiago was very grateful for this project. He said it was a big help for them particularly in organizing their barangay data which they can use for future local development planning in their area. On the other hand, President Orden was also very optimistic on the outcome of the project which made him signified his willingness to extend assistance on behalf of CLSU. As a response, the CLSU BIDANI program leader, Ms. Ma. Conception O. De Vera took the responsibility to further improve and strengthen its implementation and to take action on the plans for BMIS in the province. This activity is an off-shoot of the BMIS Training conducted last April 6 and 27, 2022 to all barangay representatives in the Science City of Munoz.

CLSU Leads Conference for OFWs and Families Across Region 3

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the University Gender and Development Office (UGADO), in collaboration with the OFW Family Circle of Nueva Ecija, Inc. (OFCNE), is currently conducting a two-day regional conference for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families from May 15 to 16, 2025. The event brings together 96 members of the OFW Family Circle (OFC) community from Region 3, representing the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales. With the theme “BAYANI ng Gitnang Luzon: Benepisyo at Aksyon tungo sa Yaman, Abilidad, Negosyo, at Integral na Kalusugang Pangkaisipan,” the conference features discussions and workshops on mental health, gender issues, business development, financial literacy, and discrimination. Behind this initiative is the dedicated CLSU team led by Prof. Janet O. Saturno, UGADO Director, and Dr. Jayson L. Marzan, Project Leader of MeMo + GOLD. They are joined Dr. Carolyn P. Gonzales-Marzan, Mr. Sherwin Celestino, Ms. Alliah Samantha P. Sugue, Mr. Ryan De Quina, and Mr. Laurence Lingat as project staff members. This collaborative effort underscores the university’s continuous commitment to delivering impactful programs that address the needs and challenges faced by OFWs and their families. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Signs MOU with Region 3 SUCs and DBM to Offer Diploma in Women, Peace and Security with Focus on IPs

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Budget and Management and State Universities in Region 3 today, May 17, at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, Cabanatuan City. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and NEUST President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo led the PASUC 3 presidents in the MOU signing. They were joined by Dir. Rosalie C. Abesamis from the DBM Region III, who represented DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, as well as IP community representatives, other stakeholders, and partner institutions within the region. The MOU covers the implementation and promotion of the program, which seeks to address a critical gap in capacity building by providing academic, research, and policy-oriented training to empower Indigenous women and their advocates and strengthen inclusive peace and development strategies. CLSU Strengthens Service Efficiency Through Nationwide Frontline Service Inspection

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) underwent a rigorous evaluation on May 13, 2025, to ensure compliance with the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) and the Ease of Doing Business (EODB). This evaluation coincides with the celebration of EODB month this May. As such, the CLSU Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART) conducted a meticulous assessment of various key offices to promote efficient and transparent service delivery throughout the institution. The evaluation focused on the adherence to the Citizens’ Charter and Client Satisfaction of the following offices: the Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President for Administration, the Internal Audit Services Office, the University Library and Information Services, the Office of Admissions, the University Health Services, the Cashier’s Office, the Human Resource Management Office, the Accounting Office, and the Budget Office. The CART was led by Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, together with Dr. Cheryl Ramos, Administrative Services Director; Dr. Irene Bustos, Office of Student Affairs Dean; Ms. Loida Gurion, Records Office Chief; Mr. Jonathan Gurion, Human Resource Management Office Chief; Ms. Jinky Parugrug, Financial Management Services Director; Dr. Khavee Botagen, Management Information System Office Chief; and Mr. Adorable Pineda, a retired employee serving as an external auditor.
