BFP Mounts Fire Square Roadshow; Demonstrates Fire Fighting Equipment and Skills

In celebration of the Fire Prevention Month, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of Science City of Mu?oz, Nueva Ecija headed by FCInsp. Julius Cesar L. Dejos, City Fire Marshall mounted its first Fire Square Road Show at the CLSU Multi-purpose Gym (MPG) on March 13, 2024. The roadshow was graced by Nueva Ecija Provincial Fire Marshal, FSSupt. Jose Raymund B. Manimbo as guest speaker who gave an overview of the program and emphasized the importance of knowing fire safety precautions and skills to address fire incidents. He also reiterated the commitment of BFP to assist and protect the lives in the community. Meanwhile, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President expressed his gratitude to the BFP for conducting the activity at the university for the students to have an additional knowledge on disaster preparedness. He also took the opportunity to thank the firefighters who responded to a recent fire incident in the university. ?Rest assured that you will have the full support of CLSU as your partner in this kind of endeavor. The program then proceeded with a presentation of information about the importance of fire safety awareness and the steps necessary for fire prevention to more than 200 faculty, staff, and students. In addition, the Fire Officers demonstrated first aid training, proper use of tools during fire incidents, and rappelling which can be useful in times of fire disasters. Ms. Kimberly Paray, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student who attended the event conveyed the importance of having an event like this to educate them with skills that are useful in emergency situations. ?First time kong maka-attend ng ganitong event at talagang marami akong natutunan kasi importante na malaman natin kung ano ang mga dapat gawin kapag may sunog at yung tamang paggamit ng mga equipment,? Ms. Paray added. Also in attendance are Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, VP for Academic Affairs, along with the BFP Officers from San Jose City headed by FSInsp. Julius R. Mangrubang, City Fire Marshall, and the officials from the of Science City of Mu?oz LGU, Dr. Raul P. Divino, City Administrator?s Office, Mr. Emmanuel C. Bustamante, City Public Order and Safety Office, and Engr. Joel T. Manuel, City Cooperative Development Office, and Allied Services. More students and teachers from the DepEd CLSU Elementary (Lab) School, University Science High School, and various colleges visited the BFP roadshow after the program and were provided with hands-on experience in rappelling and use of other fire-fighting equipment.
