Captured Moments and Sentiments During the 72nd Commencement Exercises

Despite the rain pouring while the graduands are marching towards the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site, the solemnity and significance of this momentous event was sustained by all the attendees especially the proud parents, guardians, relatives and supporters of the Graduating Class of 2024. The graduands held their umbrellas as if it was their dreams and aspirations, they braved the rain and proceeded as if nothing incovenient is happening, it was indeed a moment to be cherished, one for the books, most would say. Once the ceremony started, it was like an answered prayer, the rain stopped and the sun peeked and illuminated the faces of the graduands as they receive their respective degrees, conferred by the Commencement Speaker, no less than the University President, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella. In place of the rain, emotions poured in as parents, guardians and guests patiently waited and watched as their pride and joy they take their moment on stage and receive their diplomas signifying the end of a journey and a start of an exciting adventure ahead. “Masaya ako kasi finally, lahat ng effort at sakripisyo namin para sa kanya at yung mga pagsisikap n’ya ay nagbungga na. Minsan kahit walang baon pumapasok pa din siya, kaya sobrang proud kami sa kanya” said Ms. Racquel Pascual, a proud parent from San Jose City, Nueva Ecija who was deeply moved as she witnessed her son being called to the stage to receive his diploma. Ms. Leonida Bautista from Gapan Nueva Ecija on the other hand felt emotional as she expressed her hope and wish for her only daughter to fulfill her dreams in her next journey. “Super saya kasi sa awa ng Diyos, nakapagtapos sya ng pag-aaral. Sana ipagpatuloy nya lang hanggang matupad nya yung kanyang mga pangarap,” said Ms. Bautista. In addition, Mr. Vinancio Camacho, a proud father of the Associate in Chemical Technology graduate from Maria Aurora, expressed his support to her daughter who hurdled the first two years of her studies, and still have two more to go for her Bachelor’s degree. “Naka dalawang taon na sya dito sa CLSU, kaya sana pagbutihin nya pa yung pag-aaral nya. Nandito lang kami palagi na susuporta sa kanya,” Mr. Camacho added. Recognizing the significant role of the parents and guardians in one’s academic journey, Dr. Abella reminded the graduates to thank their parents and supporters after emphasizing the importance of the values one must possess to thrive in the real world. “Do not forget your family, relatives, and friends who helped and supported you every step of the way to get through the different demands of your college life. You all have a shared memory here in CLSU, even at this moment, this is a core memory to all of you.” – Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President. At least 5,000 parents and guests were present during the event who watched the ceremony on site, and at the Auditorium via live streaming. Among the 2,565 graduates, 456 are from the College of Agriculture; 355 from the College of Arts and Social Sciences; 335 from the College of Business and Accountancy; 409 from the College of Education; 408 from the College of Engineering; 69 from the College of Fisheries; 187 from the College of Home Science and Industry; 238 from the College of Science; 87 from the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine; and 21 from the Distance, Open and Transnational University. CLSU Acquires Addt’l Coaster and Van

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has acquired a new Coaster and Commuter Deluxe van, through the GAA fund, as part of its re-fleeting initiative for government motor vehicles. The Coaster, which can carry 29 passengers, was purchased for P4,114,000.00. This spacious vehicle will be an invaluable resource for larger group excursions, field trips, and transportation for participants attending various university events. Meanwhile, the Commuter Deluxe van is a 14-seater vehicle acquired at P1,857,000.00. To provide comfortable transportation for smaller groups, facilitate official university business, and address daily logistical requirements. These acquisitions reflect CLSU's commitment to delivering efficient and comfortable transportation solutions, essential for supporting its academic, research, and extension programs.

CLSU Receives Donation of 100 Input Devices to Enhance Technological Resources

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has upgraded its technological resources by donating 100 input devices, including keyboards and mouse. This collaborative effort was made possible through the partnership of Global Galaxy Distribution Inc. and STS Corp., a long-standing food concessionaire within the university. This contribution aims to modernize the existing equipment across various administrative offices and academic laboratories at the University. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, formally accepted the donation from Mr. John Harlem Roqlie, Project Manager of Global Galaxy Distribution Inc. joined by his colleagues, Mr. Vincent V. Enrique, Mr. Raymund R. Reta, and Mr. Isnadil H. Isnani, as well as Ms. Marites Santos, owner of STS Corp. During the event, President Abella expressed profound gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that these new devices will enhance the productivity and overall experience for students and staff. The donated devices are Aula Philippines products, featuring a wired optical mouse with 7 responsive buttons, 4-speed adjustable DPI settings, and 26-key anti-ghosting capabilities, designed to facilitate smooth multi-key presses and improve user efficiency.

AACCUP Conducts Institutional Accreditation at CLSU

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is undergoing a comprehensive four-day institutional accreditation process by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). This process began today, July 1, and will conclude on July 4, 2025. This comprehensive evaluation underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to upholding and enhancing the quality of its entire operations and adherence to national and international quality standards. The AACCUP accreditation team is meticulously assessing nine key areas of the university: Governance and Management; Teaching, Learning, and Evaluation; Faculty and Staff; Research; Extension and Consultancy; Linkages; Support to Students; Library, Infrastructure, and Learning Resources; and Quality Assurance Culture. These evaluations ensure that all parts of the university meet standards for academic excellence and efficient operations. The esteemed accreditors are Dr. Milabel E. Ho, Executive Director and Team Coordinator, AACCUP IA, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, AACCUP Teamleader and current President of Bohol Island State University, Dr. Emmylou B. Yanga, Former Regional Director of CHEDRO IV, Dr. Emily M. Arangote, Former President of Aklan State University, Dr. Cecilio L. Manarpaac, Former Quality Assurance Director of Palawan State University, Dr. Benhur A. Asid, University Librarian of Western Mindanao State University, and Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, former President of Tarlac State University. During the opening program, Dr. Ho poetically characterized CLSU as "the hub of educational farmers toiling the fertile soil of academic excellence and a haven for agricultural enthusiasts romancing with nature and agri-aqua resources to advance economics in the region”. She further defined the university as an institution "Committed to Leading Standards Unwaveringly." Additionally, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella presented CLSU's significant milestones and accomplishments achieved over the years, highlighting the university's progressive journey and substantial contributions. Before this, a courtesy visit to the CLSU President was held as part of the preliminaries where exchange of pleasantries between the Executive Committee and accreditors was witnessed. This institutional accreditation reaffirms CLSU's dedication to continuous improvement and its pursuit of excellence across all endeavors, solidifying its position as a premier educational and research institution in the Philippines.
