CLSU COMMEMORATES 112TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY VIA WEEK-LONG CELEBRATIONS

The university opens its heart and its doors to the community, its stakeholders and constituents through a series of special, novel, and festive activities in celebration of its 112th Founding Anniversary on April 12, 2019. The week-long  commemoration and celebrations of  this important  milestone are founded on the theme “CLSU@112: Abiding the Legacy of Patriotic Service to Country.” Specifically, the April 12 celebration will be highlighted by the Main Anniversary Program and University Convocation at 9:00 in the morning at the Multi-purpose Gym; and the  Recognition Program for the 2019 service awardees, retirees and outstanding employees under the CLSU PRAISE which  starts at 5:30 in the afternoon at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management  (DHTM) Hall. The formal opening of the week-long festivities, meanwhile, will be ushered in by an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Mass on April 8 at the CLSU Centennial Lawn.  It will be followed by the Flag Raising and Opening Ceremony with Dr. Tereso A. Abella, CLSU president, giving a message. Afterwards, a  Kapihan at Huntahan sa CLSU which will be participated by the university officials, students and parents  will be held  at the CLSU Multi-purpose Gym. The pre-Foundation Day activities, on the other hand,  which are expected to add glitter to the overall celebration and excitement to  all participants and attendees  include the following: Open House in the ladies’ and men’s dormitories; day of wellness for CLSU employees and boodle fight; Fulbright Scholarship mentoring and orientation; international day; live cultural presentations  of CLSU’s performing artists/groups; carnival fair; sports festival; Zumba mob;  public movie viewing; Research, Extension and Training techno fiesta; and community night which will see CLSU faculty, staff and students partaking foods ala fiesta sponsored by CLSU cottage  residents. Meanwhile, the eight colleges of the University are staging an array of programs including cultural events and other recreational activities such as Laro ng Lahi, boodle fights, exhibits, and fun run; lectures and discussions through seminars; variety of competition such as  quiz bees, and games; and  recognition and awards night, among many other interesting activities. The university-wide programs and the college activities which will be conducted simultaneously within the week-long celebrations were all designed to add to the ‘fiesta’ atmosphere that is expected to pervade in the whole campus during the week-long celebrations. Prof. Jay B. Villafria, Jr., director of the Center for Central Luzon Studies, is the overall chair of the Planning Committee,  with Prof. Rodolfo Warren Gregorio T. Mayo II, Chair of the Department of Social Science,  as co-chair. They were backed by the various working committees. President Abella, and the CLSU vice presidents, to wit: VP for Administration Cheryl G. Ramos; VP for Academic Affairs Renato G. Reyes; VP for Business Affairs Program Edgar A. Orden; and VP for Research, Extension and Training Fe L. Porciuncula,  provided the needed lead and support to ensure the success of the anniversary celebrations.

CBA Achieves 56% Passing Rate in LECPA 2024 with First-Time Takers Posting an Impressive 72%

The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) celebrates a remarkable milestone as 28 of its graduates successfully passed the December 2024 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA). This achievement resulted in an outstanding institutional passing rate of 56.00%, surpassing the national passing rate by an impressive 25.83%. Notably, 21 first-time takers achieved an impressive passing rate of 72.41%, while seven re-examiners posted a passing rate of 33.33% in the December 2024 LECPA. The University, along with the entire CBA faculty, takes great pride in these achievements. Furthermore, to those who did not achieve passing results this time, we commend your hard work and dedication. This is not the end of the road—stay determined and keep striving toward your goals. CLSU is a Recipient of the 2024 ICONS Awards

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again been recognized for its exemplary internationalization efforts, receiving the prestigious Internationalization (IZN) Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2024. The award, organized by the Commission on Higher Education-International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS), was presented today, December 16, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. Representing CLSU, Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office, accepted the award on behalf of University President Evaristo A. Abella. The recognition highlights CLSU as one of the country’s leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with international rankings, as evidenced by its achievements in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (Reporter Status), THE Impact Rankings, and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). President Abella expressed his heartfelt gratitude to CHED-IAS for acknowledging CLSU’s leadership in internationalization among Philippine HEIs. He commended the dedication and hard work of the university’s faculty, non-teaching staff, students, alumni, farmer-partners, and other stakeholders who contributed to this milestone. He emphasized that these accomplishments reflect CLSU’s commitment to aligning its academic, research, and community programs with global standards to promote sustainable development and nation-building. CLSU is Top Performing School in September 2024 Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Education (CEd), has been recognized as one of the top-performing schools in both Elementary and Secondary Education, based on the results of the September 2024 Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers. With an outstanding institutional passing rate of 93.20% for the elementary level and 83.19% for the secondary level, CLSU proudly celebrates the success of 573 “Golden Grains”—276 from the elementary level and 297 from the secondary level. This remarkable achievement highlights the CEd’s unwavering commitment to excellence and its dedication to producing highly competitive educators. Congratulations to all our newly Licensed Professional Teachers!
