CLSU Forges Partnership with AMPC for Ecological Solid Waste Management

CLSU through the Institute of Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM) solidified its commitment to environmental sustainability and effective waste management by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the ASKI Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC) at the Administration Conference Room on January 10, 2024. Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, expressed his gratitude to the AMPC for the timely collaboration that will enable CLSU to transform waste into resources. Dr. Abella also highlighted that this engagement will also impact the students in terms of increased awareness and responsible use and consumption of recyclable materials through educational campaigns. Mr. Carlito M. Dela Cruz Jr., AMPC Chairman, conveyed his appreciation to CLSU for accepting this three-year partnership which will further strengthen the initiatives of both parties in waste management and environmental protection. The MOA signing was witnessed by several CLSU officials including Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, VP for Administration, Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, ICCEM Head, Dr. Jay C. Santos, Dean, College of Arts and Social Science (CASS), Mr. Carlo Raul Divina, Acting Director, Physical Plant and Site Development Services, Mr. Jasper D. Santos, General Manager of AMPC, and Mr. Froilan M. Gutierrez, Manager of ASKI Foundation. This partnership will directly support the implementation of Ecological Solid Waste Management of the university by collecting PET bottles, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polythene, aluminum materials, and other recyclable materials.

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
