CLSU IMPLEMENTS MONTH-LONG SUSPENSION OF CLASSES, WORK DUE TO COVID-19

Central Luzon State University will strictly implement the work from home scheme except those units involved in the delivery of critical services like security and health and emergency starting March 17, 2020 until April 13, 2020 or until such time the Enhanced Community Quarantine over Luzon has been lifted. This is in compliance with the memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea dated March 16, 2020 reiterated further by the Civil Service Commission thru Announcement No. 13, s. 2020 issued on the same day. As early as March 13, preventive measures against the widespread transmission of the 2019 Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) were formed during the emergency meeting of the CLSU Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council called by Dr. Edgar A. Orden, University President. The Council which is chaired by Dr. Danilo S. Vargas, Vice President for Administration, with the key officials of the university (vice presidents, deans and directors); and unit heads as members, collectively formed the CLSU COVID-19 Prevention Protocol. Pursuant to the Executive Order No. 006-2020 issued by Nueva Ecija Governor Aurelio Umali, dated March 14, 2020 after President Rodrigo Duterte announced the status of the National Public Health Emergency to Code Red Sublevel II, Dr. Orden also issued a memorandum on the suspension of classes from March 16 to April 14, 2020. Furthermore, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs shall be releasing a supplemental memorandum to the faculty with regard to class requirements and other student concerns related to the class suspension for the aforesaid period. All clienteles and residents of the university will follow the strict implementation of the thermal scanning at the main gate, which will serve as the sole entrance to the university. TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.
