CLSU inks MOU with UHAMKA, Indonesia

Strengthening its partnership within the ASEAN region, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), Indonesia on July 5, 2023. The partnership intends to intensify the academic and research collaboration of both universities and explore opportunities to develop and enrich other possible activities. Dr. Edgar A. Orden, University President, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulpahmi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business led the MOU signing while Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Acting VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina Romualdo, Acting Dean of the CBAA, Dr. Tohirin - Vice Dean of FEB-UHAMKA, and Dr. Herri Mulyono, Head of Scientific Publication of UHAMKA served as witnesses. In his message, Dr. Orden acknowledged the efforts of CBAA for having the initiative to go beyond what is expected of them. He also recommended that both parties pursue the possibility of offering a joint degree program to further strengthen the partnership.   Also present are officials from both universities led by Dr. Armando N. Espino Jr., VP for Research and Extension, Dr. Parsons Hail, Acting Director of International Affairs Office, Asst. Prof Ummu Salma Al Azizah, Head of Islamic Finance Department, Asst Prof. Meita Larasati, Head of Accounting Department, and Dr. Herri Mulyono, Head of Scientific Publication, UHAMKA.

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
