CLSU Joins PASCN for Collaboration and AI Discussions

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), as an active member of the Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) participated in its General Assembly on June 11, 2025, at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for Business Affairs, represented CLSU and proudly presented the university's significant contributions through programs like the Techno Village Development Program, Ambulant Vending Program, and RICE-UP. Notably, as the sole woman leader in the assembly, Dr. Romualdo's presence underscored CLSU's commitment to inclusive leadership. Prior to the assembly, participants also attended the symposium titled "AI for a Sustainable Tomorrow: Policy Innovations for APEC and the Philippines” which co-organized by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS)-PASCN and the University of the Philippines System, the symposium delved into leveraging Artificial Intelligence for green development, smart governance, and innovative policies across the Philippines and APEC economies. Alongside Dr. Romualdo, the General Assembly brought together various PASCN member institutions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Attendees included representatives from esteemed universities which include Mr. Christopher Ed C. Caboverde (Asian Institute of Management), Dr. Geoffrey M. Ducanes (Ateneo de Manila University), Dr. Lawrence B. Dacuycuy (De La Salle University), Mr. Josemari Janathiel Borla (Foreign Service Institute), Dr. Aniceto C. Orbeta Jr. (Outgoing President, Philippine Institute for Development Studies), Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño (Incoming President, Philippine Institute for Development Studies), Dr. Francis Mark A. Quimba (Project Director, Philippine APEC Study Center Network), Assistant Professor Rene Rafael B. Juntereal (Silliman University), Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez (President, University of the Philippines), Dr. Percival F. Almoro (Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs [Research], University of the Philippines), Dr. Francisco Cid L. TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

CLSU Sustains Reporter Status in Times Higher Education World University Rankings

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
