Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Arts and Social Sciences and the Cultural Affairs Office, celebrates the National Arts Month 2026, centering on the theme “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting,” on February 5 at the University Auditorium. In his keynote address, University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella emphasized that art serves as more than just aesthetic expression; it is a vital instrument for social consciousness. “Sa pamamagitan ng ating Sining, mas mauunawaan natin ang ating sarili at ang kalagayan ng lipunang ating ginagalawan. Nagiging tulay din ito para ipahayag natin ang ating saloobin, kung tayong ay masaya, pati ang ating pagkadismaya, dahil ang sining ay hindi nag kukubli sa kasinungalingan, kundi nagpapakita ng tunay na kaganapan at estado ng ating damdamin at nang ating pamayanan,” he poetically said. The opening program was graced by Ms. Jana Mara Stefan San Pedro, Provincial Tourism Officer of Nueva Ecija, as the guest speaker. Ms. San Pedro commended CLSU for its commitment to truth and courage, noting that the term “Ani” represents a harvest of memories, experiences, and provincial affirmation. At the same time, “Sining” serves as a vessel for truth and excellence. The celebration was officially inaugurated through a ceremonial striking of the gong, signaling the start of a month-long series of cultural activities. The event featured a showcase of local talent, including performances by the university's premier culture and arts groups, such as Maestro Singers, Bithay Sining Dance Troupe, and Tanghalang Gagalaw sa CLSU. Concluding the program, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco reiterated the importance of the arts in nation-building. She noted that such celebrations are essential in preserving Filipino heritage, strengthening national identity, and fostering a continuous culture of creativity within the academic community. #SievingForExcellence
