A launching ceremony honoring CLSU’s rich history, heritage and its branding initiatives was held as part of the 60th Universityhood celebration on June 18, 2024 attended by the members of the University Supreme Student Council, faculty, and staff, and the members of the Administrative Council.
Spearheaded by Assoc. Professor Maria Adrielle S. Estigoy, Director, Presidential Management Services, the perspective for the museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history and cultural heritage of the university dubbed as “Dungon: Museo de CLSU” was presented. The plan involves the renovation of the old Public Affairs Office building into a repository of memorabilia and milestones as well as a “CLSU Store” where souvenirs will be made available for the visitors.
Meanwhile, the branding initiatives for the identity of the university were presented including the proposed Brand Book outlining a comprehensive guide ensuring CLSU’s cohesive and unified identity; a Pasalubong Center and Tatak CLSU merchandise providing a range of products that embody the spirit and pride of the CLSUans.
Also, the coffee table book project which will feature CLSU’s 60 Best Moments immortalizing the impactful moments and achievements of the university was launched including the celebration of the diamond year of CLSU as well as the investiture of the 11th University President.
Finally, the newest member of the CLSU community – “Siel” the Green Cobra, the official mascot was introduced as a representation of strength, resilience, and dynamic spirit of every CLSUan.
Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, VP for Academic Affairs represented Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President and expressed the importance of these projects in the future undertakings of the university in catering to the diverse visitors and guests who frequent the campus for benchmarking activities as well as for educational and agritourism tour.
Also present are Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, VP for Business Affairs, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, VP for Administration, and Dr. Edgar A. Orden, VP for Research and Extension who took the opportunity to meet Siel and appreciate the new merchandise of the university.
