CLSU Marks 115th Founding Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU ) successfully celebrated its 115th founding anniversary from April 11 to 12, 2022. With the theme “CLSU@115: Continuing Legacy for a Sustainable University”, the two-day event traced back the significant milestones of the University from being a farm school to becoming one of the leading Higher Education Institutions in the country. As a prelude to the celebration, a celebratory walk or parade, tree planting, and paper boat sailing activities were conducted at the University grounds. There were 115 native trees planted (Palawan Cherry Blossoms, Ylang-ylang and Dungon) around the newly-developed area - Zen Garden, symbolizing the years CLSU was established. Moreover, as a highlight of the celebration, the wreathe laying and the flag-raising ceremonies held at the centennial ground, the inauguration and blessing of the newly-renovated Reimers Hall, ceremonial turn-over of information management system server from PhilMech and the State of the University Address, were conducted. Commissioner Lino L. Dizon of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines served as the guest of honor and speaker. He expressed his appreciation for the university’s effort in giving importance to the rich history of the institution. “Let me thank the CLSU administration for taking care of the icons of your colonial past, and your early beginnings. Let them be beacons or anchors as you continually chart your splendid present and future,” he added. The Reimers Hall, built in 1922, will now serve as a museum showcasing a thematic display of agricultural artifacts. On the other hand, Dr. Ronald L. Adamat, Commission on Higher Education Commissioner and CLSU Board of Regents Chair, greeted the university in a video message and recognized its effort to be a leading institution in agriculture and its allied fields. “Anniversaries are celebrated as recognition with thanks for the growth and milestones in the life of an institution, such will likewise serve as inspiration for an institution to rise to the next level in achieving more growth and milestones. On this occasion, I extend my good wishes and heartiest congratulations to the university and its outstanding officials and professors with whom the students and the community enjoy a long history of learning and friendship,” he said. As an event finale, President Edgar A. Orden delivered the state of the university address where he presented the achievements of the university for the past two years anchored on his 7-point agenda: responsive curricula to the industry’s needs, cutting edge R&D, more favorable environment for students, faculty and staff, enhance international engagements, expand the innovation corridors and support to entrepreneurial activities, strengthening the human capital, and ensuring sustained funding support. President Orden also proudly shared with the attendees the recent accomplishment of the University in its international endeavors saying “With the collective effort and commitment we did as a university, I am very proud to say how evidently our hard work and teamwork paid off having been ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. With your individual and our team achievements, we are not only making a mark on a national level but a great representative in the international arena as a forefront higher education institution.” He concluded his address by commending everyone for adapting, surviving, and believing that with knowledge, expertise, and innovative technologies, the society’s growth can be initiated, and its development sustained, and the legacy of leading with excellent service to humanity be continued. The members of the administrative council, representatives from the different associations, student representatives, and heads from the different institutions within the Science City community joined the event celebration.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered the Pledge of Commitment, underscoring the University's future direction. “We commit to continuously cultivate an environment that promotes ethical and impactful research for academic advancement and development. We vow to respond to the needs of our communities, ensuring a positive societal impact,” VP Velasco said. She further emphasized the administration's support for infrastructural development and student welfare, stating “For our facilities, laboratories, and learning environment, our administration will provide support funds for conducive learning and workspaces and deliver student-centered services for all CLSUans.” CLSU looks forward to the official AACCUP results, confident that this positive evaluation reaffirms its dedication to enduring quality. #SievingForExcellence

GASS Program Leads Zumba for a Cause

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the General Administrative Support and Services Program (GASS), is currently conducting a Zumba for a Cause event. This charitable activity has successfully garnered the participation of more than 100 individuals. All proceeds collected from the event will be directly contributed to the Project HANDOG (Hakbang ng Akademya para sa Nasalanta, Dala ay Oportunidad at Ginhawa) - an initiative to provide assistance and relief to victims of the recent typhoon.

CLSU Claims 2nd Spot Among Top-Performing Schools in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Exam

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Agriculture, has once again proven its status as a Center of Excellence in the recently conducted Agriculturist Licensure Exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in November 2025. The University was recognized as the second-highest-performing school in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination, with 208 “Golden Grains” successfully passing, earning CLSU an overall performance rating of 91.63%, up from its previous rating of 82.57%.
