CLSU Receives Special Awards at CHEDRO III 30th Anniversary

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has been honored with a Special Award by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED Regional Office III) during the Stakeholders’ Appreciation Day on May 31, 2024, at The Orchid Gardens in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. This event marked the 30th Founding Anniversary of CHED and the 4th Higher Education Day, celebrated under the theme “Transformative and Resilient Higher Education.” The recognition highlights the University’s significant contributions to internationalization initiatives and its unwavering commitment to fostering academic innovation and cross-border collaboration. These efforts have elevated the institution’s global reputation, particularly in the esteemed Asian University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Awards, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). Representing CLSU at the ceremony were Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration. Additionally, Dr. Rhodora I. Dela Rosa, Head of the University Graduate Program Office (UGPO), received a Plaque of Appreciation (Individual Award) for her role as the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) Grant Administrator at CLSU. Dr. Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of CHED Regional Office III, served as the keynote speaker where she acknowledged the presence of all State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Presidents in Region III, celebrated their collective achievements, and described their journey as “becoming a pearl.” The recognition bestowed upon #CLSU underscores the university’s steadfast commitment to excellence in higher education. As CLSU continues to spearhead transformative and resilient educational initiatives, it solidifies its pivotal role in shaping the future of education both regionally and globally.

CLSU Produces 127 New Licensed Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers, Exceeds National Passing Rate

As one of the University’s flagship programs, the College of Engineering – Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering proudly celebrates the outstanding performance of its graduates in the December 2025 Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers Licensure Examination (ABELE) where CLSU achieved an impressive 64.80% overall institutional passing rate, surpassing the national passing rate of 59.14%. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the official results on December 11, 2025, listing 127 “Golden Grains” composed of 94 first-time takers and 33 repeaters, who now join the roster of licensed Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering professionals. CLSU Secures Research Approval from DOST-PCIEERD, Joins Grand MOA Signing

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) joined the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) Grand Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last December 11, 2025, at the DTI-PTTC Hall B in Pasay City, Manila after one of its research proposals was approved amounting to almost four million pesos. Dr. Jeannie-Rose G. Fabula of the Crops and Resources Research and Development Center (CRRDC), will serve as the project leader of the approved research titled “Catalysts of Change: Impact Assessment of DOST-PCIEERD’s Young Innovators Program (YIP) for Scientific Advancement and National Development.” The project, which will run from Janto December 2026, aims to evaluate the long-term impacts of the Young Innovators Program, a flagship initiative that supports young Filipino researchers in science, technology, and innovation. The findings will contribute to enhancing initiatives designed to nurture the country’s future innovators. A diverse team of faculty researchers, including Maria Celia M. Fernando, Jairus Jesse M. Tubal, Herald Kam G. Hernando, and Dr. Maria Excelsis M. Orden will be part of the said project. The MOA signing event was attended by DOST-PCIEERD officials and agency heads from various partner institutions. It also featured technical discussions on the commercialization of research and development through the Innovate PINAS program, as well as the launch of international partnerships with Spanish research agencies. Dr. Fabula was accompanied by Dr. Jonathan V. Fabula, who represented the university president, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, during the said event. This involvement underscores CLSU’s commitment to research excellence and its essential role in fostering a strong and inclusive science and technology ecosystem for national development.

Muling nagningning ang tarangkahan ng Central Luzon State University sa pagdiriwang ng #Pailaw2025, dala ang temang “Liwanag ng Pag-asa: Para sa CLSU, Para sa Bayan.” Ang pagsindi ng bawat ilaw sa unibersidad ay sagisag ng muling pagbangon mula sa bawat unos at hamon na ating napagdaanan. Ang bawat pusong Sielesyuan ay nagiging tanglaw, liwanag na hindi lamang para sa sarili, kundi para gabayan at pag-igtingin ang pag-asa ng mas marami.
