CLSU Students, Faculty Attend 6th Japan SciCom Forum

Five students from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) represented both the university and the Philippines as the sole delegation at the sixth edition of the Japan Science Communication (SciCom) Forum, held at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan from October 22 to 24, 2024. The event gathered a community of researchers, journalists, and media to explore innovations in SciCom, aiming to make scientific knowledge more accessible and engaging to diverse audiences across age groups, locales, and ethnicities. Among the forum’s highlights was a workshop led by The Japan Times journalist Ms. Tomoko Otane, who shared insights on crafting impactful feature stories suited for newsroom releases. She discussed the role of journalism in an AI-driven world and the importance of covering stories that resonate with audiences. CLSU delegates King David Audencia (MS Agricultural Engineering), Carl Danielle Cabuhat (BS Psychology), Harvey Josh Fernandez (BS Development Communication), Eduardo Hilario, Jr., (BS Biology), and Jose Emmanuel Mico (BA in Literature) together with Mr. Laurence Lingat, CLSU Collegian Adviser, joined participants from Kyushu University and collaborating organizations, including EurekAlert!, Cactus Communications, Mira Tuku, and Cheerios, marking CLSU’s active engagement in global scientific dialogue and media innovation. #CLSUGoingGlobal #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

CLSU Maintains Strong Global Standing, Ranks 69th in 2025 AppliedHE

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. AFTERMATH AT CLSU | Restore and Rebuild

The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus. These photos highlight the resilience of the CLSU community as we come together to restore and rebuild. The administration would like to express its sincere gratitude to the CLSU personnel and students who went above and beyond in assisting with the cleaning and clearing operations, as well as to those in the kitchen who prepared meals for our students.
