The Master of Science in Aquaculture offered by the College of Fisheries and Master of Science in Education, and Doctor of Philosophy in Development Education offered by the College of Education will undergo evaluation in five areas including the number of published refereed journals, extension and community impact, employability of graduates, and excellent outcomes in research. Dr. Theody B. Sayco, College of Engineering Dean and OIC VP for Academic Affairs delivered the welcome remarks in which he expressed his gratitude to the accreditors and the local task force for their efforts in ensuring that the programs will effectively achieve their objective of providing quality education to students. Meanwhile, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, VP for Administration and OIC of the Office of the University President, emphasized that CLSU's mandate is to provide students with the quality education in their chosen discipline, and the accreditation process can help in identifying the strength and weaknesses for each program. "An external examiner is one who objectively evaluates and identifies our strengths and weaknesses, and as we dwell on our strengths, we address our weaknesses" said Dr. Abella. Leading the AACCUP evaluators is Dr. Boyet L. Batang from Isabela State University, who introduced the accrediting task force and discussed the essence of accreditation and documents which needs to be scrutinized. The AACCUP evaluation aims to develop a culture of quality in the different SUCs to maintain excellent features and processes of the curricular programs being offered. Other activities during the accreditation are the presentation of documents for the areas to be visited, interview with students and faculty, and a virtual tour of the facilities.
