CLSU Signs MOU with BCYF to Establish Agribusiness Innovation and R&D Hub

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) marks another milestone as it formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) last February 24, 2026, for the establishment of the BCYF-CLSU Agribusiness Innovation, Research and Development Hub (AIRD Hub). The hub is envisioned to become an integrated innovation center that will strengthen research, technology commercialization, and agribusiness development. Representing the University are University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, and Vice President for Business Affairs Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, together with other CLSU delegates at the Manila Polo Club. The ceremony was also attended by members of the BCYF Board of Directors and Advisory Council led by its founder and president, Mr. Antonio S. Yap. The partnership builds upon the initial discussions on the proposed project held on January 31, 2026, at St. Mutien College in Dau, Pampanga, where both institutions explored collaborative opportunities in innovation, agribusiness, and community development. This collaboration was made possible through the continued recognition of CLSU’s innovation excellence, having produced two BCYF Innovation Award (BIA) Awardees, Dr. Clarissa Yvone Domingo (2022) and Dr. Dana G. Vera Cruz (2025), whose achievements highlighted the University’s strong culture of research, extension, and technology transfer. It paved the way for this institutional partnership. Through BCYF, new opportunities will be opened for faculty, students, farmers, and entrepreneurs as CLSU strengthens its role in inclusive innovation and community development. This initiative aligns with the University’s strategic direction of becoming an Education Enterprise Zone (EEZ) by 2030, where instruction, research, extension, and enterprise are fully integrated for national and regional development. #SievingForExcellence
