CLSU Sustainability Champs Recognize in Asia Pacific CEO Awards 2025

University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and College of Home Science and Industry faculty Dr. Dana G. Vera Cruz were awarded the Sustainability Champion Award and Outstanding Sustainability Practices Award, respectively, during the Asia Pacific Sustainability and Conference Award 2025 held on May 21, 2025, at the M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. President Abella was recognized for his unwavering commitment to embedding sustainability into Central Luzon State University’s (CLSU) academic, research, and operational systems. Under his leadership, the University is championing renewable energy adoption, climate-resilient agriculture, and inclusive community development. On his behalf, Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension, received the award. Dr. Vera Cruz, on the other hand, was honored for her globally acclaimed Tilapia Ice Cream innovation and the P5 Framework—People, Planet, Product, Partnership, and Profit—that guides Vera Bella Enterprises’ sustainable business model. Their stories will be featured in the Asia Pacific Awardees—Cenderahati Book, which will be distributed to foreign embassies across Malaysia. Meanwhile, in a heartfelt tribute also during the said event, Dr. Billy Tang Chee Seng, Global Chair and CEO of PWD Smart FarmAbility Malaysia awarded the Global HOPE Award to President Abella, Dr. Vera Cruz, Vera Bella Managing Partner, Dr. Tereso A. Abella, former CLSU President and Vera Bella President, and Dr. Pablo J. Rafael, CLSU Business Development Division Director where he manages the Agriculture and Food Technology Business Incubator that supports incubatees. The HOPE Award honors those demonstrating extraordinary inclusive leadership, regenerative impact, and social equity, particularly those who are championing marginalized, disability-led, or underserved communities. The said event was participated by over 180 delegates from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Egypt, and the Philippines. #SievingForExcellence #PartnershipForTheGoals

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.

RIDe Fest 2025: Groundwork to Greatness of Innovation Impact

The Research, Innovation, and Development Festival (RIDe Fest) is an annual event that highlights the university's discoveries, knowledge, and impact in the community. This year’s festival began with the official Opening Program and the ceremonial inauguration of the Innovation and Extension Exhibit, setting a celebratory tone. This was followed by the rigorous 37th Annual In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing R&D Projects and the Research Poster Showcase. To conclude the first day of the festival, a Knowledge-Sharing Session on "Communicating Science Effectively through Social Media” with Content Creator and UPLB Asst. Prof. Ethan Hernandez was held, and attended by over 200 students, faculty members, and science communicators from nearby agencies. Day two fused community spirit with academic pursuits. The early morning Community Parade was followed by events that highlighted the talents, humor, and research-oriented mindset of the CLSU community, including the competitive RIDe Fest Quest and an enthusiastic Cook-off. Furthermore, research and innovation were amplified through the Student Researchers' Day, the continuation of the In-House Review, and an insightful Plenary Session: International Spotlight, featuring crucial updates on the Banana and Cacao Disease Management Project. The excitement continues with the highly anticipated Innovation Pitch Off and the Sustainability Summit, alongside the final day of the exhibit.
