CLSU to Recognize 2,731 Graduands for its 71st Annual Commencement Exercises; Half of the Graduating Class to Finish with Honors

Committed and dedicated to producing quality graduates, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) will hold its 71st Annual Commencement Exercises on July 14, 2023, at the CLSU Auditorium with the theme "Marching Ahead of the Curve: Strategic Foresight in the Internationalization of Higher Education." Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, Undersecretary for Regional Operations of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), will serve as the guest of honor and commencement speaker. USec Mabborang, a partner and supporter of the University in implementing R&D programs and projects, is expected to inspire the 2,731 graduands as they march on to their future. Meanwhile, almost half of the graduating class is set to receive an academic honor wherein two are Summa Cum Laude, 125 are Magna Cum Laude, 953 are Cum Laude, 22 are with honors, and 48 are with special awards for their contribution to sports, arts, and journalism, among others.The breakdown of graduating students by college is as follows: College of Education - 539; College of Business Administration and Accountancy - 501; College of Arts and Social Sciences - 371; College of Engineering - 475; College of Science - 190; College of Agriculture - 363; College of Home Science and Industry - 239; College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) - 12; College of Fisheries – 19; and the Distance, Open and Transnational University (DOTUni) - 22. This year's commencement exercises is accounted for the highest number of graduates and academic honors. Additional Graduation Advisory: 1. Due to the inclement weather that we are experiencing, the 71st Commencement Exercises will now be held at the CLSU AUDITORIUM, ONE SESSION IN THE MORNING ONLY. 2. ASSEMBLY TIME will be 5:00 am and the ACADEMIC PROCESSION will start at Rizal Park at exactly 6:00 am. Parents/guardians can accompany the graduates during the procession up to the Auditorium entrance. 3. After the procession, parents/guardians may proceed to ISPEAR Gymnatorium and Multi-Purpose Gym for the viewing of the graduation ceremony. Live streaming of the event will also be available via the official CLSU Facebook page. 4. Faculty with no tasks during the graduation are no longer required to attend the ceremony. Only the university officials, deans, ushers/usherettes, registrars, records in-charge, and other faculty and staff with graduation involvement should be in attendance. Please bring your umbrellas. Stay safe and dry!

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.

RIDe Fest 2025: Groundwork to Greatness of Innovation Impact

The Research, Innovation, and Development Festival (RIDe Fest) is an annual event that highlights the university's discoveries, knowledge, and impact in the community. This year’s festival began with the official Opening Program and the ceremonial inauguration of the Innovation and Extension Exhibit, setting a celebratory tone. This was followed by the rigorous 37th Annual In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing R&D Projects and the Research Poster Showcase. To conclude the first day of the festival, a Knowledge-Sharing Session on "Communicating Science Effectively through Social Media” with Content Creator and UPLB Asst. Prof. Ethan Hernandez was held, and attended by over 200 students, faculty members, and science communicators from nearby agencies. Day two fused community spirit with academic pursuits. The early morning Community Parade was followed by events that highlighted the talents, humor, and research-oriented mindset of the CLSU community, including the competitive RIDe Fest Quest and an enthusiastic Cook-off. Furthermore, research and innovation were amplified through the Student Researchers' Day, the continuation of the In-House Review, and an insightful Plenary Session: International Spotlight, featuring crucial updates on the Banana and Cacao Disease Management Project. The excitement continues with the highly anticipated Innovation Pitch Off and the Sustainability Summit, alongside the final day of the exhibit.
