CLSU, UMak Partner to Strengthen Curriculum and Research

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and the University of Makati (UMak) held a ceremonial signing on October 8, 2025, for the “University-to-University Collaboration Project” (U2U Collab), which aims to strengthen General Education (GE) instruction through collaboration, innovation, and shared research activities. The University of Makati’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) led the U2U Collab, with Associate Professor Tessie Tapiador-Sagadraca, CLAS Dean, emphasizing that the project intends to improve the delivery of General Education courses by supporting faculty development, updating the curriculum, and fostering research partnerships between the two institutions. This collaboration also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. The program kicked off with university profile presentations and welcome remarks from Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, CLSU President, who expressed appreciation to UMak for initiating the partnership, highlighting that “collaboration is the name of the game” in higher education. The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and the College of Science (COS), led by their deans Dr. Jay C. Santos and Dr. Angeles M. De Leon, respectively, together with their faculty, participated in the event through follow-up discussions, presentations, and planning sessions with UMak CLAS faculty. Prof. Virgilio B. Tabbu, Vice President for Student Services and Community Development at UMak, conveyed his gratitude for CLSU’s hospitality and support. The event wrapped up with closing remarks from Dr. Santos, who underscored the importance of partnerships in advancing academic excellence and innovation. #SievingforExcellence

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

CLSU Sustains Reporter Status in Times Higher Education World University Rankings

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
