Lalaine Ann Manuel | CED

The CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning - Agricultural Science and Technology School (CLTL-ASTS) brought together their students to experience manual rice planting from January 10-12 dubbed as Taniman 2024. Students from Grade 7 to Grade 12 planted the 3.7 hectare rice field which aims to provide them practical exposure to agricultural practices and instill a deeper understanding of the field. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for young students to enrich their insights in relation to the intricacies of rice cultivation. The planting experience is just one facet of the hands-on agricultural education provided by the CLTL-ASTS as its commitment to provide holistic development, strengthening values such as hard work, teamwork, and passion for agriculture to mold a generation that is academically proficient and equipped with essential life skills. In addition to Taniman, the CLTL-ASTS offers a technical-vocational curriculum in its junior and senior high school programs where students are exposed to various aspects of agriculture and home technology, including animal, clothing, and food production in its laboratories, as part of their specialized subjects.
