CTEC Conducts CAT for AY '23-'24; Initiates Pencil Donation Drive

Aug. 23, 2023

ADRIAN IMMANUEL R. ASEHAN | SCO

The CLSU Testing Evaluation Center (CTEC) administered the College Admission Test (CAT) to 8,734 examinees out of 14,759 online applicants for Academic Year (AY) 2023-2024 after a hiatus of two academic years due to pandemic related restrictions.   The test sessions took place during weekends on various dates from January 14-15, 28-29, February 11-12, 25-26, and March 4, 2023 at the CLSU ICT Research and Development Training Center (CLIRDEC) adhering to health and safety protocols, such as social distancing, wearing of face masks, and proper sanitation.   In an admirable display of community involvement and support, examinees who took the CLSU CAT contributed to a worthy cause by donating their pencils as part of the CTEC's Pencil Donation Drive, aptly named "Ang Lapis Mo ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko".   Through this initiative, over 6,000 pencils were collected, to be distributed to elementary schools in impoverished barangays across Nueva Ecija in the upcoming school year 2023-2024. This endeavor emphasizes the importance of education and promotes the spirit of giving within the community. The donated pencils will serve as essential tools for young students in their pursuit of knowledge, empowering them to write their own stories and forge a brighter future. The CAT serves as student’s gateway to qualify for admission to CLSU as incoming first year students.
