LAUNCHING PROGRAM: 110TH FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Dr. Tereso A. Abella, president of Central Luzon State University leads the university officials as he ignites the torch marking the start of the 110th founding anniversary celebration this April 17.    This year’s celebration is filled with exciting activities while it gives another meaning of CLSU. Dr. Abella quoted that in the past, “CLSU is known as the Center of Love, Solidarity and Unity. For our visitors, we say CLSU - Come Look and See Us.” And now, with a pride, Dr. Abella gratefully congratulated the people who coined CLSU as Culture of Academic Excellence, Leadership in Agricultural S & T Research, Serving Humanity with Excellence and University for Inclusive Development. Delighted with the presence of a huge number of attendees, Dr. Abella added, “We should be thankful because everyday is a gift of life from the Great Architect of the Universe, our Almighty. We are lucky and enjoying to breathe fresh and clean air, because we have Acacia trees. Aside from providing us oxygen, these trees are living witnesses to the university’s developments and historical events. “We have to extend our gratitude to the great men and women who came before us,” he also said. With our theme, 110 years of Keeping the Torch Ablaze: A Tribute to the CLSU Community, he emphasized, “This is giving tribute or giving recognition to all the members of the CLSU family, the stakeholders both local and national as well as international”. He fervently encouraged his fellow government employees and students to be an instrument in attaining the mission and goals of CLSU aligned with our university’s philosophy that the measure of the effectiveness of a higher education institutions is to look at its contribution to and impact on the education, economic, social, cultural, political and moral well-being and environmental consciousness of the peoples it serves. The faculty, staff and students celebrating the CLSU 110th Founding Anniversary.   To fully internalize the celebration with enjoyment by the CLSU community, he also declared a week-long suspension of classes from collegiate to senior high school level, however the students are required to witness and involve themselves in the celebration activities. In conclusion, Pres. Abella said, “I convey my felicitations to all of us and our beloved Central Luzon State University for another milestone that revitalizes our history. As we uphold CLSU as a torch that shares light and hope to the present and future generation, let us further strive, succeed, and remain grounded in our roots. Mabuhay ang CLSU!  Patnubayan tayo ng Poong Maykapal.”

CLSU Shows Strong Commitment to Quality Education, Subjects 7 Programs to AACCUP Accreditation

The Central Luzon State University subjected seven of its key academic programs to a rigorous evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from December 1 to 3, 2025 demonstrating its unwavering commitment to excellence. The seven programs evaluated were Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education, and Bachelor of Science in Food Technology. These programs garnered high praise from the accreditors for their strong commitment to quality and excellence, an active and impressive research culture, exceptional performance in licensure examinations, robust international linkages, and meaningful community engagement. During the closing ceremony, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered the Pledge of Commitment, underscoring the University's future direction. “We commit to continuously cultivate an environment that promotes ethical and impactful research for academic advancement and development. We vow to respond to the needs of our communities, ensuring a positive societal impact,” VP Velasco said. She further emphasized the administration's support for infrastructural development and student welfare, stating “For our facilities, laboratories, and learning environment, our administration will provide support funds for conducive learning and workspaces and deliver student-centered services for all CLSUans.” CLSU looks forward to the official AACCUP results, confident that this positive evaluation reaffirms its dedication to enduring quality. #SievingForExcellence

GASS Program Leads Zumba for a Cause

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the General Administrative Support and Services Program (GASS), is currently conducting a Zumba for a Cause event. This charitable activity has successfully garnered the participation of more than 100 individuals. All proceeds collected from the event will be directly contributed to the Project HANDOG (Hakbang ng Akademya para sa Nasalanta, Dala ay Oportunidad at Ginhawa) - an initiative to provide assistance and relief to victims of the recent typhoon.

CLSU Claims 2nd Spot Among Top-Performing Schools in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Exam

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Agriculture, has once again proven its status as a Center of Excellence in the recently conducted Agriculturist Licensure Exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in November 2025. The University was recognized as the second-highest-performing school in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination, with 208 “Golden Grains” successfully passing, earning CLSU an overall performance rating of 91.63%, up from its previous rating of 82.57%.
