NE Boosts Onion Industry with New Cold Storage Facility at CLSU

The newly built Onion Cold Storage facility, which can hold an estimated 3,240 metric tons (approximately 120,000 bags) of onions, was officially handed over to the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija on April 30, 2025. The facility, which is worth 210 million pesos, is strategically located at the Nueva Ecija Fruits & Vegetable Seed Center (NEFVSC) on the grounds of Central Luzon State University (CLSU). During the inauguration ceremony, CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella highlighted the facility's significant advantages for local onion producers and its positive impact on the university's academic community. "For CLSU, the establishment of this facility on our premises constitutes a valuable asset, offering our faculty and students direct access to resources that will markedly enhance their research endeavors,” President Abella stated. He also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Provincial Government for its essential financial support in actualizing this crucial project for the agricultural sector. "I think, with this facility, we have a bright future for all of our local producers of onions," he asserted. President Abella also commended the steadfast commitment of the provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Umali, in bolstering Central Luzon through vital infrastructure projects and funding initiatives aimed at ensuring the sustainability of onion farming. The inauguration and blessing were also graced by Dr. Arthur D. Dayrit, Vice Governor Emmanuel Antonio M. Umali, Director Elma S. Manases, Dr. Raul Divina representing the Science City of Muñoz Mayor Baby Armi L. Alvarez, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Jose Maria Ceasar C. San Pedro representing the Governor Aurelio M. GASS Program Leads Zumba for a Cause

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the General Administrative Support and Services Program (GASS), is currently conducting a Zumba for a Cause event. This charitable activity has successfully garnered the participation of more than 100 individuals. All proceeds collected from the event will be directly contributed to the Project HANDOG (Hakbang ng Akademya para sa Nasalanta, Dala ay Oportunidad at Ginhawa) - an initiative to provide assistance and relief to victims of the recent typhoon.

CLSU Claims 2nd Spot Among Top-Performing Schools in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Exam

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Agriculture, has once again proven its status as a Center of Excellence in the recently conducted Agriculturist Licensure Exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in November 2025. The University was recognized as the second-highest-performing school in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination, with 208 “Golden Grains” successfully passing, earning CLSU an overall performance rating of 91.63%, up from its previous rating of 82.57%.
