OSA Unveils Student Wellness Hub

The Office of Student Affairs launched the Student Wellness Hub on March 18, 2024 to provide a safe space for students where they can rest, enjoy, and free their minds from their hectic academic schedule. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the University President, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Dr. Irene G. Bustos, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs while Fr. Rev. Rufo Ramil H. Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, administered the blessing of the new facility. In her welcome address, Dr. Bustos emphasized the importance of establishing a Student Wellness Hub to address the wellness and mental health concerns of the students in the post-pandemic era. Dr. Abella on the other hand reminded everyone of the importance of mental health not only for the students but for the faculty and staff as well. “Huwag po natin kakalimutan ang ating kalusugan, lalo na ang ating mental health. Ito po ay napaka-importante upang makapag-trabaho tayo at para sa mga estudyante naman ay makapag-aral nang mabuti. To our students, I hope that you will make use of this facility and take the opportunity to participate in the activities, and use the wellness hub properly to help you be at ease here in our campus,” said Dr. Abella. The Student Wellness Hub houses different leisure equipment like massage chairs, yoga mats, gym equipment, among others and will be open during weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
