PCO Officials, Media Practitioners and Gov’t Information Officers Visit the CLSU KAMALIG S&T Agritourism Site

Around 80 participants of the Food Security Cluster Communications Workshop Organized by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) visited the KAMALIG S&T Agritourism Site which showcases the technologies generated by CLSU today, April 5. PCO Assistant Secretary Joey M. Villarama II and Dir. Julius N. Leonen, Office of the Traditional Media Cluster of PCO explored the KAMALIG along with media practitioners and information officers of different agencies under the Agriculture Department. The tour highlighted the different technologies including the Three-Way Cross Goat, Sure Feed for Goats, FAC Selected Tilapia Strain, Solar-Powered Pumps and Vehicles, Tower Gardens and Automated Fertigation System, among others. In addition, the delegates had the opportunity to try a variety of locally produced food products such as the famous Tilapia Ice Cream, Mush Aroy (a ready-to-eat mushroom, malunggay, and seaweed chips), Tilading, goat’s milk ice cream and ice candy, and Orayza chips made from organic aromatic rice. ABS-CBN, GMA7, TV5, UNTV, IBC, Net25, Manila Times, Philppine Star, Daily Tribune, Inquirer, Rappler, Business World, DWIZ, DZRH, DZXL, Radyo Pilipinas and Bombo Radyo are among the media practitioners who joined the experiential tour and at the same time covered the CLSU technologies.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.

RIDe Fest 2025: Groundwork to Greatness of Innovation Impact

The Research, Innovation, and Development Festival (RIDe Fest) is an annual event that highlights the university's discoveries, knowledge, and impact in the community. This year’s festival began with the official Opening Program and the ceremonial inauguration of the Innovation and Extension Exhibit, setting a celebratory tone. This was followed by the rigorous 37th Annual In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing R&D Projects and the Research Poster Showcase. To conclude the first day of the festival, a Knowledge-Sharing Session on "Communicating Science Effectively through Social Media” with Content Creator and UPLB Asst. Prof. Ethan Hernandez was held, and attended by over 200 students, faculty members, and science communicators from nearby agencies. Day two fused community spirit with academic pursuits. The early morning Community Parade was followed by events that highlighted the talents, humor, and research-oriented mindset of the CLSU community, including the competitive RIDe Fest Quest and an enthusiastic Cook-off. Furthermore, research and innovation were amplified through the Student Researchers' Day, the continuation of the In-House Review, and an insightful Plenary Session: International Spotlight, featuring crucial updates on the Banana and Cacao Disease Management Project. The excitement continues with the highly anticipated Innovation Pitch Off and the Sustainability Summit, alongside the final day of the exhibit.
