SCImago Ranks CLSU 2nd Among State Universities in PH; Leads in Innovation Metric

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has achieved another significant milestone, solidifying its standing as the second top State University in the Philippines, following the University of the Philippines System, and seventh overall, according to the esteemed SCImago Institutions Ranking, which uses data from Scopus and SciVal. Driven by its vision to become a National Research University, CLSU's impact is evident across key ranking categories. In the Research Ranking, which assesses the volume, impact, and quality of an institution's research output, CLSU achieved the 50th position in the Philippines. Notably, the Innovation Ranking, calculated based on patent applications and citations of research output from patents, CLSU claims the top spot leading the Philippine Higher Education Institutions in the country. For the Societal Ranking, based on website presence, backlinks, and social media mentions, the University ranked 90th nationally. CLSU has also demonstrated strong capabilities across various fields, including 7th in Agricultural and Biological Sciences, 2nd in Environmental Science, 3rd in Veterinary, and 12th in Social Sciences. This recognition truly underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to excellence in research, innovation, and academic contributions across critical disciplines. #SievingforExcellence

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again sustained its Reporter status in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings following a comprehensive evaluation of its institutional performance. This ranking framework assessed the university across fundamental areas, including teaching environment, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. Marking its fourth consecutive year of inclusion in THE-WUR, CLSU remains committed to achieving a ranked position by strengthening its research output, expanding scholarly publications, and enhancing global academic collaborations.
