Tea Party and Recognition Program

Two years after the pandemic, the University finally held once again a tea party and recognition program for 368 mid-year and summer graduates at the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site today, February 28. To kick off the program, the traditional parade of graduates was done alongside the cheering of faculty and staff led by the university officials, faculty, and staff. In his welcome remarks, University President Edgar A. Orden congratulated the graduating class of 2023 and reminded them to take their learnings in the real world with positivity and humility. “You earn this achievement through hard work and dedication… You have to carry the torch burning. Carry the name of this university with dignity and honor. Remember you always bring CLSU with you,” he further emphasized. Meanwhile, in his speech, Mr. Reynaldo T. Cuevas V., the class valedictorian, stirred up the emotion of the crowd when he offered his achievements to his mother. “Mommy, kasama mo na po ako noong ako’y bata pa lamang. Ma, nagbunga na po ang inyong pagtitiyaga at paghihirap. Para po sa inyo ito,” Mr. Cuevas quipped. More so, he inspired his co-graduates and shared not to doubt themselves but ask for assistance when necessary. He also reminded them to take step and make CLSU proud saying “Let’s take pride and be proud of this moment, as we are soon be part of the CLSU Alumni community. Lagi nating tandaan na maging mabuting halimbawa sa lahat ng CLSU Students, na tayo ay maipagmalaki ng ating unibersidad at gayun din naman saan man tayo mapunta ating ipagmalaki na tayo ay graduate ng Central Luzon State University.” To recognize the awardees – the 16 cum laude, 31 with honors, 7 with academic distinctions, 9 with loyalty awards, 2 best athlete awards, and 1 with the cultural award were awarded medals.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.

RIDe Fest 2025: Groundwork to Greatness of Innovation Impact

The Research, Innovation, and Development Festival (RIDe Fest) is an annual event that highlights the university's discoveries, knowledge, and impact in the community. This year’s festival began with the official Opening Program and the ceremonial inauguration of the Innovation and Extension Exhibit, setting a celebratory tone. This was followed by the rigorous 37th Annual In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing R&D Projects and the Research Poster Showcase. To conclude the first day of the festival, a Knowledge-Sharing Session on "Communicating Science Effectively through Social Media” with Content Creator and UPLB Asst. Prof. Ethan Hernandez was held, and attended by over 200 students, faculty members, and science communicators from nearby agencies. Day two fused community spirit with academic pursuits. The early morning Community Parade was followed by events that highlighted the talents, humor, and research-oriented mindset of the CLSU community, including the competitive RIDe Fest Quest and an enthusiastic Cook-off. Furthermore, research and innovation were amplified through the Student Researchers' Day, the continuation of the In-House Review, and an insightful Plenary Session: International Spotlight, featuring crucial updates on the Banana and Cacao Disease Management Project. The excitement continues with the highly anticipated Innovation Pitch Off and the Sustainability Summit, alongside the final day of the exhibit.
