Central Luzon State University celebrated Valentine’s Day by honoring the hard work and tenacity of the 594 graduands during the Tea Party and Recognition Program held at Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site today, February 14.
The program commenced with the traditional handshake led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, four Vice Presidents, other university officials, faculty, and staff as the graduands enter the graduation site after finishing their academic pursuits.
During the ceremony, the certificates and medals were awarded to 4 students who will graduate as Magna Cum Laude, 27 as Cum Laude, 2 with High Honors, and 47 with honors and special awards such as Cultural, Athletic, and Loyalty Awards.
Speaking before the first batch of graduates under his term, Dr. Abella delivered an inspirational message recognizing their resilience and giving them reminders as they are about to be part of the corporate world and become the ambassadors of the University.
“I have to remind you, ang tunay na laban ay pagkatapos ng graduation at kung paano n’yo itataguyod ang inyong sarili sa labas ng CLSU at sa inyong pagtatrabahuhan. Sana gampanan ninyo ang inyong tungkulin ng mahusay at maging ambassador kayo ng ating mahal na Central Luzon State University.”
Graduating with the highest grade point average, Ms. Angelica G. Quitalig, delivered a heartwarming response as the class valedictorian and offered her degree to her parents whom she thank profoundly in her speech.
“Maraming salamat sa aking mga magulang na walang sawang naka abang sa bawat kabanata ng aking pagtanda. Lubos ang pasasalamat ko sa aking Daddy na syang nagtratrabaho para sa aming pamilya. One of the biggest gifts I received is having a responsible Father like you, I love you Daddy. Also, to my mother, thank you for being there for me since day one. Thank you for raising us to be kind, respectful, and grateful. You became my best friend and number one supporter. As I received this medal, I would always say I am proud to be your daughter and finally we made it.”
In closing, Angelica encouraged her fellow graduands in their future endeavor and the possibilities ahead of them.
“The world awaits our brilliance, resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment in making a difference. We have proven that we are capable of adapting to changes, surpassing obstacles and standing up no matter the circumstances may seem. May our future never dull, our adventures be limitless, and our impact everlasting. Go forward seize the moment and carry the mark of excellence.”
