Two Graduate Programs undergo Level 1 AACCUP Accreditation

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) subjects the Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling (MS Guidance Counseling) program offered by the College of Education, and the Doctor of Philosophy in Development Communication (PhD DevCom) of the College of Arts and Social Sciences for Level 1 accreditation of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) from July 3-7, 2023.   The AACUP fielded esteemed professors from different state universities as accreditors led by Dr. Loreta Vivian R. Galima from Nueva Vizcaya State University. Other members of the accrediting team include Dr. Angelina C. Paquibot and Dr. Cristie Marie C. Dalisay (Occidental Mindoro State College), Dr. Benedict O. Medina (Batangas State University), Prof. Anna Roffel O. Lozada (Marinduque State College), and Dr. Lauren P. Lipaan (Benguet State University).   During the opening program, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, acting VP for Academic Affairs acknowledged the local accreditation task force and their respective area program headed by Dr. Marife De Torres (PHD DevCom) and Dr. Ma. Ruby Hiyasmin Delos Santos (MS Guidance Counseling) for taking on the challenge and subjecting their programs to the online accreditation to further improve the curricular offering of their respective college.   “All of our academic and educational activities must undergo continuous accreditation to ensure that they are up to standard with an outcome-based approach to provide the demand and needs of the industry,” Dr. Velasco added.   Furthermore, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, University President, emphasized the importance of this academic exercise for CLSU and expressed his appreciation as this will further strengthen the graduate programs of the university.   “To our accreditors, I believe that your valuable comments, suggestions, and even questions will help us enhance and improve these curricular offerings” said Dr. Orden.   The five-day online accreditation will evaluate the areas of research, extension, physical facilities, and support to students and faculty among others.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.

RIDe Fest 2025: Groundwork to Greatness of Innovation Impact

The Research, Innovation, and Development Festival (RIDe Fest) is an annual event that highlights the university's discoveries, knowledge, and impact in the community. This year’s festival began with the official Opening Program and the ceremonial inauguration of the Innovation and Extension Exhibit, setting a celebratory tone. This was followed by the rigorous 37th Annual In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing R&D Projects and the Research Poster Showcase. To conclude the first day of the festival, a Knowledge-Sharing Session on "Communicating Science Effectively through Social Media” with Content Creator and UPLB Asst. Prof. Ethan Hernandez was held, and attended by over 200 students, faculty members, and science communicators from nearby agencies. Day two fused community spirit with academic pursuits. The early morning Community Parade was followed by events that highlighted the talents, humor, and research-oriented mindset of the CLSU community, including the competitive RIDe Fest Quest and an enthusiastic Cook-off. Furthermore, research and innovation were amplified through the Student Researchers' Day, the continuation of the In-House Review, and an insightful Plenary Session: International Spotlight, featuring crucial updates on the Banana and Cacao Disease Management Project. The excitement continues with the highly anticipated Innovation Pitch Off and the Sustainability Summit, alongside the final day of the exhibit.
