CEn Students & Faculty Develop ARTMOS for Broiler Production

Students and faculty from the College of Engineering (CEn) developed an Automated and Real-Time Monitoring System (ARTMOS) to be installed and used in the CLSU Tunnel-Type Broiler Production Project. The ARTMOS technology can help improve the productivity and profitability of poultry farms. It specializes in monitoring the important parameters in the broiler production system such as temperature, humidity, feeding rate, frequency of feeding, water supply, and voltage of power supply. Moreover, the said technology will include features like an alert system via mobile phones that will remind the in-charge personnel to refill the containers for feeds, vitamins, antibiotics, and power interruption. The alert system will send information to its corresponding application or website that can be easily installed on mobile phones. Engr. Roldan T. Quitos led the development of ARTMOS together with Mr. Ivan Christian M. Salinas, Mr. John Vincent A. Nate, Mr. Daryl F. Espino, Ms. Genalyn B. Sebbey, and students taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. They presented and demonstrated on April 26, 2023 their invention to the University President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden together with Vice President for R&E, Dr. Armando N. Espino, Jr., and former URPO Director, Dr. Maria Excelsis M. Orden for their comments and suggestions to improve the ARTMOS. The said project is one of the initiatives of the University in keeping up with the digital world in agriculture.

TESO Continues CAT Promotion Through Pencil Donation Drive

Passed from the hands of hopeful dreamers to the hands of young learners, the Testing and Evaluation Services Office (TESO) continues its promotion of the CLSU Admission Test (CAT) while extending support to the primary learners of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary Laboratory School through a Pencil Donation Drive themed “Ang Lapis Mo, Ang Susulat sa mga Pangarap Ko” on September 28, 2026. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella led the distribution of 1,300 pencils to 600 pupils, alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, and School Principal Jocelyn De Guzman. The Pencil Donation Drive forms part of the CAT promotion campaign and was made possible through the contributions of examinees who took the previous CAT.

CLSU, Soroptimist International Launch ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship for Female Agriculture Students

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Office of Student Affairs (OSA), officially inked a Memorandum of Agreement with Soroptimist International of Metro Manila Northwest District to establish the ATE GOES AGRI Scholarship Program: Advancing Growth, Resilience, and Inclusion through Education. The MOA signing was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. OSA Dean Irene G. Bustos, and District Director Ms. Jennifer Joan Bayot. The event was witnessed by Ms. Josephine D. Cariño. The educational assistance program empowers financially disadvantaged young women pursuing agriculture degrees by building their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for careers in sustainable agriculture, food security, and community development. This partnership will benefit five qualified female students from the CLSU College of Agriculture who demonstrate financial need. Each scholar will receive a PHP20,000 stipend for the academic year. The CLSU-OSA will facilitate the program's implementation, tasked with screening applicants, verifying academic status, monitoring scholars, and managing progress reports. This new partnership underscores a shared commitment to breaking financial barriers for women in agriculture, equipping the next generation of female leaders to drive innovation in their communities.
