The program then proceeded with a presentation of information about the importance of fire safety awareness and the steps necessary for fire prevention to more than 200 faculty, staff, and students. In addition, the Fire Officers demonstrated first aid training, proper use of tools during fire incidents, and rappelling which can be useful in times of fire disasters. Ms. Kimberly Paray, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student who attended the event conveyed the importance of having an event like this to educate them with skills that are useful in emergency situations. “First time kong maka-attend ng ganitong event at talagang marami akong natutunan kasi importante na malaman natin kung ano ang mga dapat gawin kapag may sunog at yung tamang paggamit ng mga equipment,” Ms. Paray added.
