Dr. Florante P. Ibarra, College of Education (CEd) faculty and choirmaster and founder of internationally acclaimed choral group CLSU Maestro-Singers, attended the International Conference in Education hosted by the State Islamic University in North Sumatra-Medan, Indonesia as focus speaker on October 4-5, 2023.
Held at the UINSU University Convention Center, the conference is a significant gathering of education experts, researchers, and educational leaders from various institutions, both national and international, in the fields of Education and Arts where Dr. Ibarra delivered his talk on Internationalization of Curriculum: Adopting the content and teaching methods in a global perspective.
The event was participated by around 300 graduate students and professionals coming from various universities in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region providing a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, networking and collaborative discussions on pressing issues related to English as a Foreign Language (EFL), in the global teaching context.
This engagement is a testament to the commitment of CLSU in fostering academic collaboration and promoting academic excellence on a global scale. In addition, Dr. Ibarra also participated in the panel discussions, and engaged the attendees in constructive dialogues.
After the conference, Dr. Ibarra was requested to introduce the programs being offered at Central Luzon State University as there had been many graduate students and professionals who expressed their intentions to visit CLSU and enroll in the graduate programs both in applied sciences and social sciences, respectively.

Ibarra representing Columbia University-NYC-USA and Central Luzon State University-Philippines; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ajib Bin Abad Razak from Center of Research in Psychology – The National University of Malaysia; Prof. Dr. James Arvanitakis from Western Sidney University – Australia; Prof. Dr. Falzah Binti Idrus from University of Singapore; and Prof. Dr. Chandra Wi from University of North Sumatra Indonesia. Dr. Maslathif Dwi Purnomo from Sidney Australia hosted the event.
