Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and BRAC Fisheries Enterprise from Bangladesh, formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held on September 16, 2024. The event marked a significant milestone in strengthening long-term ties between the two institutions as they work towards contributing to global sustainable development, through the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These programs will primarily concentrate on fisheries and human resource development, enhancing the capabilities of both institutions to contribute to global food security and sustainable fisheries. The MOU was signed by University President Evaristo A. Abella, alongside Dr. Karl Marx A. Quiazon, Director of FAC while, Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Dean of the College of Fisheries served as a witness. On the other hand, BRAC Fisheries was represented by their Senior Director, Mohammad Anisur Rahman, and General Manager, MD Musharraf Hossain, who initially signed the document in Bangladesh before its finalization in the Philippines.
